THE SEAFOOD SHANTY
Summer has finally arrived and there’s no better perch than to watch the boats coming and going from the Edgartown harbor than at this Vineyard classic: The Seafood Shanty. Located in Edgartown, this restaurant boasts two levels of full service bars and three decks, all with amazing views – did we mention you’ll be sitting right on the harbor? If the fresh air and sunshine isn’t enough to cure your slow start to the morning, we suggest ordering the “Best Damn Bloody Mary Evah!”
Starting at 11am till the parties over, you can order this tasty, island favorite. Served slightly spicy with an Old Bay rim, this classic drink is garnished with two Jumbo shrimp, celery, olives, lime, and lemon- it’s so good that you’ll want to order a second one before the first is even finished! Be sure to snap a photo of this artful drink with the water as the perfect backdrop- it’s a picture perfect, Instagram-worthy post.

BISCUITS
Located in the heart of Oak Bluffs, just a stone’s throw away from the harbor is where you’ll find Biscuits Restaurant. This popular breakfast and lunch spot seats up to 50 people and usually has a line out the door (because it’s that good), so try to get there early before heading to the beach for some sunbathing. Biscuits serves their breakfast menu starting at 7am till 3pm.
Step inside to a relaxed atmosphere where you’ll be greeted by friendly servers in the same manner as visiting family down south. The menu offers breakfast classics and as expected, plenty of mouth-watering biscuit dishes.
Start out with the Fried Chicken and Waffle: A malted Belgian waffle, lightly dusted with powdered sugar is topped off with a hearty portion of perfectly golden, crispy fried chicken. Drizzle with maple syrup to complete this fulfilling dish and dig in! The South Beach Scramble (pictured) is a healthier option and another crowd favorite! Spinach, ham, tomato and feta are scrambled together and served with your choice of a side of fresh fruit, toast or a biscuit. And, If this is on the “specials” menu, order The Nutella Crepe: prepared with Nutella and topped with slices of fresh strawberry and banana – seriously, you won’t regret indulging in this savory breakfast treat!

THE EDGARTOWN DINER
We love Edgartown for its quaint village streets and historic charm. Tucked behind the Edgartown cinema in the Old Post Office Square, with it’s true to the times 1950’s style retro decor, the Edgartown Diner is the perfect backdrop for your family’s morning.
Start out with the Mexican Taters: rich homemade potato tots, fried slightly golden and topped with fresh pico de gallo, jalapeño, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. The fresh toppings make this traditionally filling snack taste surprisingly light. It’s perfect breakfast appetizer! Don’t leave the island without trying Chef Ralston’s own creation, the “Southern Bennie.” Browned pieces of chicken are served atop homemade cornbread, layered with a gooey, over-easy egg and smothered with biscuit gravy. Roasted potatoes are served on the side. The slightly salty fried chicken is offset by the honeyed cornbread for a savory, yet sweet treat.
Another favorite to try is Ralston’s “Stuffed French Toast.” Fresh fruit and chocolate are stuffed between brioche buns and served with your own mini jar of maple syrup. The best part about the Edgartown Diner – breakfast is available all day 8:00am – 10:00pm (3:00pm in the off season).

PARK CORNER BISTRO
If you’re looking for a small yet intimate spot to “sit, chat, and chew” – the Park Corner Bistro is right up your alley. Located in the Post office square in Oak Bluffs, this eatery offers Sunday brunch from 11:00am – 2:00pm, and is the perfect place to kick back and catch up with old friends.
This popular brunch spot boasts a well-stocked bar and serves an excellent Bloody Mary. You can order this drink spicy or not. It’s prepared with a house-made mix and garnished with a pickled veggie skewer – this drink packs a punch!
The menu changes throughout the seasons and presents an interesting take on breakfast classics. The “Portuguese Sweet Bread French Toast” is prepared with Portuguese sweet bread soaked in
a whiskey custard. It creates a bread pudding like texture on the inside with a crunchy outside. Fresh made whipped cream and berries served with a side of real Vermont maple syrup completes this mouth-watering dish. On a side note: the menu also offers a fair selection of gluten-free breakfast options.

THE RIGHT FORK DINER
Located at the Katama airport is where you’ll find the Right Fork Diner. A summer favorite frequented by pilots and military landing for lunch, you’ll sit alongside locals, visitors and families alike. The indoor space has plenty of windows plus ample outdoor seating to enjoy the view and watch the planes as they come and go. Their breakfast menu is available from 7:00am-2:00pm.
The Right Fork Diner has a variety of breakfast classics using ingredients from local farms. They also offer a delicious selection of homemade fruit smoothies- perfect for getting a jump start to your morning! At the top of our list of things to try is the “Grilled Ham & Cheese” French toast sandwich. It’s served with a side of fresh greens from Morning Glory Farm and topped with an egg from The Grey Barn. Slice into this sandwich to get the ham, egg, and cheddar cheese with sweet cinnamon French toast combo for a mouthful of perfection. It tastes like heaven! If pancakes are what you’re craving, you won’t be disappointed- they’re as big as a small pizza! They also carry an amazing ‘to go’ selection of pre-made sandwiches and snacks, which are perfect for the beach!
